Shree Cement has won the most prestigious award for Corporate Governance in the country - Golden Peacock award for excellence in Corporate governance - 2007 in the manufacturing sector. The award has been instituted by World Council for Corporate Governance (WCGC) for recognizing Companies which are practicing good corporate governance practices. The award has a high recognition amongst proponents of Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development. Shree Cement has been selected as winner of the above award by a high level Golden Peacock Award jury under the chairmanship of Justice P N Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and Member UN Human Rights Commission. The award was given by Dr. A.R. Kidwai, Governor of Haryana to Shri M.K. Singhi,Executive Director of the Company at the "18'~ World Congress on Total Quality" with theme 'Boardroom Strategies for Risk Management' at Scope Convention Centre, New Delhi. Other winners include likes of Hindustan Zinc, Punjab National Bank, LIC of India, HPCL, Power Finance Corporation etc.
